Addictive new releases happened this week and we’re excited to share some of our favorites for Aug 5 – 12.
1. “Cross My Mind” – A R I Z O N A
Why it rocks: A R I Z O N A makes the best moody pop songs (see I Was Wrong) and “Cross My Mind” is no different. The emotional lyrics combined with bubbly electronics make for the perfect earworm.
2. “Colors” – The Head and The Heart
Why it rocks: “Colors” is the third song The Head and The Heart has teased for their upcoming album, Signs of Light. The loss-inspired song packs a punch with the chorus’ lyrics “I saw the colors fade away from you”. However, the use of synth gives the song just the right amount of catchy pop.
3. “Speechless” – Glades
Why it rocks: “Speechless” is another example of Glades’ nearly-perfect electronic pop. This gorgeous slice of atmospheric electronica is lead with Karina Wykes’ floating voice. It’s the perfect follow-up to their previous single, “Drive.”
4. “Repeat” – Young the Giant
Why it rocks: “Repeat” perfectly displays the variety of music on Young the Giant’s new album, Home of the Strange, released Aug. 12. It’s more mellow than the explosive “Something to Beleive In,” giving an emotional texture to the band’s newest record.
5. “Move” – Saint Motel
Why it rocks: “Move” is Saint Motel’s fun new song, released on Aug 12. The song has both 70’s disco and 80’s synth elements to give you the perfect song for solo dance parties in your apartment.
