Review: Wet, “Don’t You”

It’s official. Wet has blown our minds.

Their debut album, Don’t You, was released on Jan. 29. I’ve got it on repeat. Zutrau’s angelic voice puts me in a trance, and their beats never fail to hypnotize. The emotionally charged lyrics pull at your heartstrings while the beat moves your body.

Zutrau sings about lost love and learning how to live without it. The lyrics are easy to identify with. The synthpop makes your body sway. Obviously, I love it. There aren’t really any more words to describe the ethereal songs.

A few of the songs, including “You’re the Best,” “Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl,” “Weak” and “It’s All in Vain” were released in 2015 and make a reappearance on the album. The rest of the songs are completely new. Here’s hoping that a debut album means a show in Florida soon. We’ll keep you posted.

For now, lose yourself in the sound.
